Regions Bank Adds New Leader to Human Resources Team

Regions Bank Adds New Leader to Human Resources Team

Regions Bank has added a new member to its executive team to take on the role of one of the bank’s veteran human resources leaders.

Michael “Mike” Branca has been named head of total rewards, overseeing the development, design and administration of Regions’ compensation and benefits plans, programs and practices.

Branca will succeed Jill Shelton when she retires at the end of this year. Shelton, who has a 40-year career in human resources, compensation and benefits, will retire at the end of the year after 16 years with the bank and its predecessors. She will help Branca transition into the role and consult on a variety of strategic projects prior to her retirement in December.

Branca, who has spent 31 years in the financial services industry, joins Regions from Wells Fargo, where he headed up total rewards and performance management with responsibility for benefits, recognition, executive compensation, incentive management, governance and performance management. He previously held senior roles in compensation and total rewards at Bank of America and MBNA.

Branca earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from Georgetown University and his master’s degree in business administration from the University of Delaware.
