Credit Suisse said on Monday it would phase in a new flexible working policy for its Swiss staff, in a move that reflects positive staff feedback on remote working and complies with federal recommendations.
“As a modern employer, we want to play our part in further improving the work-life balance of our employees,” Andre Helfenstein, CEO of Credit Suisse’s local unit, said in a statement.
The new policy reflects the “overwhelmingly positive” outcome of trials of work models in the second half of last year and a survey of 3,800 staff which found that those with the most flexible work models were happy and productive.
Credit Suisse said that under The Way We Work program employees and managers would be able to decide what percentage of their time they spend outside the office and which days of the week they would be present.
Rival Swiss bank UBS said last month it will allow most staff to mix remote working with time spent in the office, taking a more relaxed approach than some Wall Street rivals that have ordered a return to work this autumn.
