Fully vaccinated people in the United States (US) of America can go without wearing masks while gathering with other vaccinated people indoors, the federal health officials have said. They will still have to adhere to wearing masks and maintaining social distancing in public spaces.
The new guidelines announced by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Monday also allow vaccinated people to gather with people considered at low-risk for the severe Covid-19 disease. This means vaccinated grandparents can now visit healthy children and their grandchildren.
“#COVID19 vaccines are effective at protecting you from getting sick. Based on what we know, people who have been fully vaccinated can start to do some things that they had stopped doing because of the pandemic,” the CDC said on Twitter.
As per the new guidelines, fully vaccinated people must wear masks, practice physical distancing, and adhere to other prevention measures when meeting with unvaccinated people at increased risk for severe COVID-19 disease.
“Wear masks, maintain physical distance, and practice other prevention measures when visiting with unvaccinated people from multiple households; avoid medium- and large-sized in-person gatherings,” the guidelines added.
